Over the last few years, freerainbowtables.com has been growing in size. Today we have lots of active users and a large base of rainbowtables available for free.
Now its time to take it to the next level by open sourcing the Windows client.
If anyone is interested in helping developing either the Windows or the Linux client, feel free to contact me and i will set you up with a dev account on google code.

The "DistrRTgen Windows" directory contains a directory named DistrRTgen_Linux. But there is a separate "DistrRTgen Linux" in trunk. What's the difference? V3 vs V4?

The DistrRTgen Linux in the Windows dir contains the nessary project files to build the V4 Linux client on Windows using MS Visual Studio, so you don't need CygWin + the V4 of the Linux client.
I have also made dirs for the old and the new Linux client in the trunk dir

Thanks for this decision, PB :-)

I'll certainly learn a few things from your source code. Are you planning to release the source of the other tools as well (rcracki, rti2rto, perfecter, ...) ? I'd really love to see a new version of rcracki with a switch that makes it scan through subdirectories for rti files.

rcracki is open source and also included in the package.
rti2rto and the perfecter / indexer are availible as well but i do not remember if they were open source. maybe we should do a new stickie thread containing all the software bugfixes and addons hidden in the deep of this board.
