I have to say that i took a decision to pull myself out of the freerainbowtables.com project.
To allow freerainbowtables.com to continue running, I'm looking for another person to host and administer the project. To opt-in send me a PM or email telling why you want to be the next head of the project and what plans you have for the future of freerainbowtables.com The person i finds that will suit the project the best will recieve all of the sourcecode of the project, including the server code, php code and the running copy of the database, allowing the person to continue running freerainbowtables.com like always, hopefully adding more to the project than i have been able to do in the last few months. It will of course also include that i point the freerainbowtables.com domain to the "winners" server.
All of lm-frt* tables will soon be released in rti (not rti2 format). I simply dont have enough time to complete and fully debug the rti2 format.

it's a shame to hear this... but i fully understand it.
i think it will be quite a challenge to find someone to be able and willing to continue this project. also new hosting might of course be a problem.
maybe we could join forces with bitweasil, 'we' have the (server side) code, infrastructure (boinc) and people... he has (or will have) the server/storage/bandwidth... he'll be generating extreme GPU tables that are too large to spread, but we could have a separate generation thread for CPU users to generate CPU tables that will be provided as a download (for free as it's always been). We could then continue with for example NTLM and MD5 tables with a larger keyspace then we have now, larger chain length, new reduction function, SSE2 enabled, etc.
no idea if it's feasible and if anybody is actually interested, but i think it might actually work. And as bitweasil will probably release source code as well, we could have other people participating and contributing in development as well.

let's hope you'll find someone who deserves this project! There won't be much applications, though, this project needs some hardware and specialized skills not everyone has...

@.@ Well, nothing really for now. Bitweasil has some plans about expanding the generation to CUDA, but there isn't anything specific yet about server, how and when. Sc00bz also talked about taking over the project, but i didn't hear from him in the last 2 months.

one of my favorite projects out there . . . I seriously doubt that this project will stay down, if it is discontinued; it's too good of an idea.

I've dropped Powerblade and email; if no one else is stepping forward it seems wrong to let his hard work of 3 yrs to slip into inactivity :)
