Nice work ;)

...but i'd love a nice wordlist manager with a progress bar for linux... cat wordlist.txt | sort | uniq > words.txt takes forever and you never know when will it finish :S

Anybody has a solution?

it is quite useless to do (although you could have one which can estimate the time depending on the number of items it would be inaccurate due to duplicates, length, similarity of the items) and it also slows down processing to run the intensive sort routines, thats why i guess you don't generally see them.

True, but sometimes it takes for ever and i start asking myself, will it ever finish? I have a 7 gig wordlist, a good computer, and i can't sort it... it's a shame :(

How much ram do you have? because you'll need like 16 GiB to sort that in memory otherwise it will use swap.

Try this command just make sure you don't have any files that start with "sortme" and change "zomg-large-word-list" to the name of your word list:
Code:
echo "splitting..." && split -l 10000000 zomg-large-word-list sortme && echo "sorting..." && find . -name sortme\* -exec echo -n '-' \; && echo && find . -name sortme\* -exec sort -o {} {} \; -exec echo -n '.' \; && echo && echo "merging..." && sort -m sortme* > sorted && rm sortme*

status
echo "splitting..." &&
splits "zomg-large-word-list" into files that are called sortme* with 10,000,000 lines per file
split -l 10000000 zomg-large-word-list sortme &&
status
echo "sorting..." &&
"progress bar" prints a "-" for every file named sortme*
find . -name sortme\* -exec echo -n "-" \; &&
new line
echo &&
sorts each file named sortme* and prints a "." when it finishes sorting a file
find . -name sortme\* -exec sort -o {} {} \; -exec echo -n "." \; &&
new line
echo &&
status
echo "merging..." &&
merges the sorted files together
sort -m sortme* > sorted &&
deletes the temp files
rm sortme*
